Grace For Saints And Ramblers - Iron & Wine

from the album Ghost On Ghost (2013)

As a rambler of sorts, I welcome any song that offers a bit of grace.  Making matters even better, Grace For Saints And Ramblers by Iron & Wine is a happy song that puts a bounce in your step and a smile on your face.

How fun this song must have been to record!  With its snappy drums, glorious harmonies, and snazzy keys this tune is simply too melodious.  I also enjoy the rapid fire lyrics, sweetly sung by Samuel Beam.  The visual imagery is outstanding, including "jonesed-up punks and Jesus freaks", "hopeless sinners, sweepstake winners", and "budding blossoms blaring Johnny Rotten."

Counterbalancing these wild images is a hook line of "But it all came down to you and I."  I dig that in the midst of all this craziness are two people making their way in the world.  Cool stuff.
